The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene ( NYC Health Department or Agency ) is seeking an appropriately qualified vendor to perform interior and exterior on-call electrical services on an as-needed basis at all NYC Health Department-owned/operated facilities ( Facilities ) located in the five boroughs of the City of New York. The purpose of this contract is to ensure that the electrical systems and equipment at the NYC Health Department Facilities are functioning in an energy efficient and safe manner. The contract term is anticipated to be for six (6) years from August 1, 2026, to July 31, 2032, with no renewal options. There will be a Pre-Bid Conference at 11:00 a.m., ET, on January 29, 2026, via teleconference. Attendance by bidders is optional but strongly recommended by the NYC Health Department. Background The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYC Health Department) is seeking a qualified vendor to provide on-call electrical services at all NYC Health Department-owned facilities across the five boroughs of New York City. The goal of this contract is to ensure that the electrical systems and equipment at these facilities operate efficiently and safely. Work Details The contractor will provide skilled, licensed, and certified labor, materials, tools, and equipment necessary for the performance of work including but not limited to: installation, repair, removal, replacement, relocation, alteration, servicing, and testing of electrical circuitry and components. Specific tasks include: - Replacing existing light fixtures with LED lighting fixtures - Installing conduits, raceways, wiring, switches (including dimmers), outlets, junction boxes - Occupancy/vacancy sensors - Service panels - Connection of electrical equipment - LED lamps and ballasts - High voltage switchgear and motor control centers - Boiler & HVAC electrical control systems wiring - Emergency generators and transfer switches. All light fixtures must be pre-approved by the NYC Health Department prior to purchase or installation. The contractor must utilize specified manufacturers for materials such as Cree Inc., Philips Lighting, Lutron Electronic Inc., etc. Period of Performance The contract term is anticipated to be six (6) years from August 1, 2026 to July 31, 2032. Place of Performance The services will be performed at all NYC Health Department-owned/operated facilities located in the five boroughs of New York City. Bidder Requirements Bidders must have at least three years of relevant experience in providing electrical services for commercial or public sector projects. They must have completed at least five relevant projects valued over $200,000 each in the past five years. Bidders must employ at least one Master Electrician registered with the NYC Department of Buildings. Additionally, contractors must be registered with the New York State Department of Labor Contractor and Subcontractor Registry.
