Background The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is responsible for managing fish and wildlife resources for the long-term benefit of people. The agency is seeking competitive pricing for the repair of State Residence exterior log walls located at Joe Budd Wildlife Management Area (WMA) in Gadsden County, Florida. This project aims to restore and maintain the integrity of the residence in accordance with specified guidelines. Work Details The contractor must furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, supplies, and supervision required to complete the following jobs: 1) Exterior Log-Wall Preparation: Remove window/door framing, existing paint/stain from log walls, and sand all exterior log walls. 2) Exterior Log Wall Repairs: Repair decayed logs, replace chinking, seal gaps with log caulking, apply wood preservative to protect against decay and insects. 3) Exterior Log Wall Finishing: Finish all log walls with a combination of primer/sealer and wood stain products. 4) Stone Chimney: Remove debris from the gap between the chimney and wall and seal it to prevent water intrusion. The contractor must have a minimum of five years of experience in restoring log structures and is responsible for site inspections prior to bidding. Period of Performance The contract will be effective for one year upon issuance of the Purchase Order. Work must commence within 30 days of issuance or an agreed-upon start date and must be completed by June 15, 2026. Place of Performance All work will be conducted at the state residence located at 1244 Cattle Gap Road, Midway, FL 32343.
