The Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) is seeking bids from qualified medical professionals to conduct occupational and pre-employment health screenings and respirator fitness medical evaluations. The goal is to establish a network of medical providers to ensure that employees are fit for duty, particularly in roles requiring the use of respirators, such as those working in clandestine laboratories and tactical operations. This initiative aims to enhance workplace safety and compliance with health regulations.
The contractor will provide the following services: 1. **Occupational Health Assessment**: Pre-employment and fit-for-duty evaluations for DOJ employees, including medical examinations and physical fitness assessments. 2. **Respirator Protection Program Services**: Medical examinations and fitness evaluations for employees required to use personal respiratory protective devices, including pulmonary function tests and hazardous materials worker examinations. Specific services include: - Annual pre-employment exams for approximately 15 individuals. - Evaluations for 14 current Arson Bureau members, 26 CLEAR Team members, 24 Tactical Team members, and an average of 2 exiting team members. - Comprehensive medical exams covering various bodily systems, vital signs checks, vision screening, audiograms, drug screenings, and health history reviews. - Follow-up recommendations based on evaluations. - Completion of required documentation such as the Respirator Medical Evaluation Questionnaire as mandated by OSHA.
The contract will initially run for one year from the date it is executed by the DOJ, with the possibility of renewal for up to four additional one-year periods upon mutual agreement.
Services will be performed at various locations as designated by the Wisconsin Department of Justice across the state.
Bidders must be qualified medical personnel (MDs, DOs, PAs, NPs) with active licensure in Wisconsin. They must comply with OSHA respiratory protection standards and possess the ability to assess employee medical conditions related to respirator use. Additionally, bidders must provide evidence of sufficient resources to meet contract obligations without incurring additional costs.
