Architectural Services for the Remodel & Expansion of Airport Administration Offices

Background

Dane County is seeking Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) from qualified firms to provide Architectural Services for the Remodel & Expansion of Airport Administration Offices at Dane County Regional Airport (MSN). This initiative is in accordance with FAA Advisory Circular 150/5100-14E and aims to address operational inefficiencies caused by the current layout of administrative staff across three separate floors. The goal is to enhance internal communication, improve workflow, and foster collaboration by consolidating administrative offices onto a single floor, thereby supporting future growth and development at the airport.

Work Details

The selected firm will provide professional architectural services for the following phases: 1) Design/Construction for the Remodel & Expansion of Airport Administration Offices. The scope includes expanding approximately 12,000 square feet to accommodate airport administrative, operations, and maintenance staff. Specific tasks include: - Remodeling existing spaces on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors; - Converting a badging office into tenant space; - Enhancing visibility for passengers; - Converting administrative offices into terminal space; - Reconstructing the Airport Emergency Operations Center (EOC); - Designing layout configurations to support various staff needs; - Incorporating sustainability elements; - Preparing environmental documentation; - Coordinating with local agencies for necessary permits and zoning requirements.

Period of Performance

The contract will be effective upon execution and will end at project completion. Key dates include proposal submission by July 23, 2026, with an estimated agreement start date of October 5, 2026.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed at Dane County Regional Airport (MSN), located in Madison, Wisconsin.

Bidder Requirements

Firms must demonstrate experience in remodeling and expansion projects related to airports or administration offices. They are encouraged to include subconsultants as needed, particularly Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs). All work must comply with applicable FAA regulations and guidelines.
