Dane County is seeking Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) from qualified firms to provide Architectural/Engineering Services for the Design/Construction of Airport Hangar Buildings at Dane County Regional Airport (MSN). This initiative is in accordance with FAA Advisory Circular 150/5100-14E and Dane County policies, aimed at constructing one or multiple hangar facilities to support future tenants and generate revenue. The airport, a small-hub Primary Commercial Services Airport, has seen significant passenger growth, exceeding 1.3 million enplanements in 2025. The project will be coordinated with the Wisconsin Bureau of Aeronautics (BOA) and the FAA, involving multiple review stages.
The selected firm will provide professional architectural/engineering services for the design and construction of hangar buildings, including necessary site preparation and taxilane improvements. Key tasks include: - Design and construction of one or multiple hangar buildings with an estimated budget of up to $20 million in federal funding. - Site development based on building size and location. - Taxilane widening if required based on aircraft size. - Compliance with FAA Advisory Circulars and relevant regulations. - Environmental documentation including NEPA compliance. - Coordination with local jurisdictions for building permits. - Geotechnical investigations and archeological evaluations as needed.
