Background

The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, through its Purchasing Services Department, is seeking bids for the CWES Cabin Roof Replacement Project. The goal of this contract is to remove and replace the roofs of five log cabins at the Central Wisconsin Environmental Station (CWES), ensuring the facilities are adequately maintained for their intended use.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for roof removal and replacement, including repairs and installation of new steel roofing systems across five log cabins:

Fir Cabin

Roof area 24 ft × 24 ft; includes 26-gauge Classic Green metal panels, trim components, fasteners, and related repair materials.

Cedar Cabin

Roof area 24 ft × 28 ft; includes similar materials as Fir Cabin.

Spruce Cabin

Roof area 24 ft × 28 ft; includes similar materials as Fir Cabin.

Hemlock Cabin

Roof area 24 ft × 24 ft; includes similar materials as Fir Cabin.

White Pine Cabin

Roof area 24 ft × 24 ft; includes similar materials as Fir Cabin. Additionally, services include performing necessary repair work, securing existing roof sheathing with screws, removal and disposal of existing roofing materials, and cleanup of project waste. A miscellaneous fee for freight and handling costs will also be included.

Period of Performance

The contract period is expected to commence on June 11, 2026, with a bid submission deadline of July 9, 2026. The work is anticipated to take place following the award of the contract.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed at the Central Wisconsin Environmental Station located at 10186 County Road MM, Amherst Junction, WI 54407.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must attend a mandatory job site visit prior to submitting a bid to ensure understanding of project requirements. The site visit is scheduled for June 18th, 2026. Bidders must also complete a Vendor Information Form and provide a client list of three firms served in the past three years. Additionally, bidders must indicate if they are certified as a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), Disabled Veteran-Owned Business (DVB), or Woman-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE).
