Background

The State of Maryland, through its State Highway Administration (SHA), is issuing this Invitation for Bids (IFB) for the replacement of noise abatement barrier doors and frames, along with associated hardware, at various locations in Baltimore and Harford Counties. The goal of this contract is to enhance the effectiveness of noise abatement measures along highways by ensuring that the barriers are properly maintained and functional.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for furnishing and replacing access doors and frames for noise abatement walls, as well as deadbolts in these doors. The scope includes: - Removal of existing doors, jambs, hardware, etc. - Installation of new fiberglass doors and frames that match existing sizes unless otherwise approved by the Engineer. - All materials must be pre-approved by the Engineer. - New doors must have a polyurethane foam core and be resistant to UV light fading. - Installation must include stainless steel hardware, including hinges and locks keyed to match existing systems. - Temporary barriers must be provided if a door cannot be replaced at the end of the workday. - All debris from the site must be disposed of at no additional cost to the Administration.

Period of Performance

The contract duration is from August 1, 2026, to June 30, 2028, totaling approximately 22 months and 29 days.

Work will be performed at various locations in Baltimore and Harford Counties, Maryland.

Bidder Requirements
