Background

The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) is seeking contractors to provide integrated communications technology solutions and services. This includes telecommunications cabling installations, moves, changes, and repairs for local area voice, data, or video networks in UNCG-managed facilities. The goal is to ensure compliance with OSHA standards and all relevant codes while fulfilling the requirements outlined in the solicitation.

Work Details

The contractor will provide 'turnkey' services that include: 1. Inside Plant: Installation of horizontal and vertical cabling (copper and fiber) for new buildings and renovations. 2. Outside Plant: Fiber installations for inter-building connectivity involving trenching, directional boring, conduit placement, terminations, splicing, and repairs. 3. Security Cameras: Installation of approved indoor and outdoor security cameras integrated with UNCG’s video management system. 4. Electronic Door Access: Management of campus identification cards and door access control systems using Transact Campus. 5. AV-related Projects: Installation of AV equipment in classrooms and conference rooms. 6. Other Endpoints: Installation services for networked devices such as switches, servers, UPS units, or wireless access points.

Period of Performance

The contract will have an initial term of one year starting from the date of final contract execution, with options to renew for up to four additional one-year terms.

Place of Performance

All work will be performed at various locations within the University of North Carolina at Greensboro campus.

Bidder Requirements

Vendors must hold a valid license for specified services in North Carolina and have a minimum of five years’ experience in the field. They must also have a local presence within a 100-mile radius of the main campus and hold appropriate certifications required for each project. Additionally, vendors are required to complete various attachments including HUB Supplemental Vendor Information and Customer Reference Form.
