Sanitary Sewer Lateral and Lead Service Line Replacement City of Milwaukee

Background

The City of Milwaukee is seeking contractors for the Sanitary Sewer Lateral and Lead Service Line Replacement project. This initiative aims to enhance public health and safety by replacing outdated sewer lines and lead service lines, which are critical for maintaining the city's infrastructure and ensuring clean water access for residents.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for the replacement of sanitary sewer laterals and lead service lines. This includes excavation, removal of existing lines, installation of new lines, backfilling, and restoration of the work site. Specific tasks may include: 1) Identifying and marking existing utility lines; 2) Excavating to access sewer laterals and lead service lines; 3) Removing old materials in compliance with environmental regulations; 4) Installing new PVC or other approved materials for sewer laterals; 5) Installing new lead-free service lines; 6) Restoring pavement, landscaping, or other surfaces disturbed during construction.

Period of Performance

The contract is expected to be performed over a period of 12 months from the date of award.

Place of Performance

The work will be conducted within various locations throughout the City of Milwaukee as specified in individual task orders.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must comply with the Small Business Enterprise (SBE) requirements set forth by the City of Milwaukee. Each SBE firm identified must hold an active certification at the time of bid opening. Additionally, bidders are encouraged to demonstrate socially-responsible practices as defined by the Socially-Responsible Contractor (SRC) criteria.
