Dredge Goetz PLC Update for the Rajant System

Summary (Newest Update)

Background The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is issuing this contract to upgrade the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) automation and network architecture aboard the Dredge Goetz. The goal is to enhance communication between the dredge, the 852 Booster Pump, and the newly acquired Land Booster, ultimately improving operational uptime and resolving legacy communication bottlenecks. The Dredge Goetz is a specialized cutterhead dredge commissioned in 2003 that relies on advanced automated controls and AC motors. Work Details The contractor will provide all necessary labor, tools, equipment, supplies, supervision, transportation, environmental fees, and overhead to reprogram the PLC system and migrate the onboard control network for the Dredge Goetz. The scope includes: 1. Pre-Deployment Setup & Shop Testing: Establish a test environment and bench-test PLC programming. 2. Dredge Hardware Configuration: Install and configure Wireless Breadcrumb network hardware on the Goetz Dredge. 3. Boosters Hardware Configuration: Install and configure Wireless Breadcrumb network hardware on both the 852 Booster Pump and Land Booster. 4. Dredge PLC Reprogramming: Modify custom programming on Allen-Bradley CompactLogix 5380 PLCs to route communications through the new IP-based network. 5. Booster PLC Reprogramming & IP Allocation: Update programming for the 852 Booster Pump and execute required IP address changes for land booster's hardware. 6. Final System Testing & Verification: Conduct end-to-end field testing to ensure reliable operation between all components. Place of Performance The work will be performed aboard the USACE Dredge Goetz. Bidder Requirements Bidders must have experience with PLC programming and network migration projects, specifically with Allen-Bradley systems. No new hardware is required from contractors as USACE owns all necessary hardware.
