The County of Siskiyou, California, is seeking qualified contractors to provide professional services for solid waste cleanup and abatement under the Farm and Ranch Solid Waste Cleanup and Abatement Grant Program. This initiative aims to address the challenges posed by illegal dumping and hazardous waste accumulation in a county characterized by a vast land area but a small population. The program is essential for safeguarding public health, protecting agricultural lands, and preserving environmental quality. Each cleanup site is eligible for a budget of up to $50,000, with an expectation of addressing up to four sites per fiscal year.

Work Details

Contractors will provide all necessary labor, equipment, materials, supervision, and incidentals for illegal dumping cleanup and abatement activities. The scope includes: 1. Evaluation for asbestos-containing materials (ACM) with proper removal if present; 2. Mobilization of equipment; 3. Removal and proper disposal of various wastes including vehicles, appliances, electronic waste, scrap metal, construction debris, household hazardous waste, medicinal waste hazards, propane tanks/gas cans, furniture, small structures, trash, and green waste; 4. Installation of fencing (including removal of existing fences) typically involving 6 ft tall chain link fences and 12ft x 50in galvanized gates. Contractors must be licensed, insured, and bonded.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence upon the execution of the Professional Service Agreement following the selection process which concludes on July 27, 2026. The timeline for each project will be agreed upon at the start of work.

The work will take place throughout Siskiyou County in California.

Bidder Requirements

Contractors must be duly licensed and authorized to perform the specified services under applicable state and federal regulations. They are required to maintain professional liability insurance throughout the contract term.
