The Burden Museum & Gardens, operated by Louisiana State University (LSU), is seeking a contractor for the maintenance and installation of the LA Light Show for the 2026 season. The goal of this contract is to ensure the successful setup, maintenance, and takedown of the light show, which is a significant event for the museum aimed at enhancing visitor experience during the holiday season.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for: 1. Installation of the LA Light Show 2026, to be completed by November 15, 2026. 2. Takedown of the LA Light Show 2026, to be completed by February 28, 2027. 3. Maintenance of the lighting displays on an as-needed basis throughout the contract period. Specific tasks include: - Wrapping trees with string lights and ensuring proper spacing. - Hanging light elements from trees at significant heights. - Constructing artificial trees and ensuring they are securely anchored. - Connecting lighting elements to data cables for synchronization with music. - Providing maintenance services including bulb replacement and electrical repairs within a twelve-hour response time. - Organizing and labeling all activation elements for efficient installation and takedown. - Ensuring all installations meet safety standards and do not disturb surrounding landscapes.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence upon award and will cover the period from October 1, 2026, for installation through February 28, 2027, for takedown. The contract may be renewed for two additional twelve-month periods at mutually agreed prices.

All work will be performed at Burden Museum & Gardens located at 4560 Essen Lane, Baton Rouge, LA 70809.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must demonstrate experience in similar projects with references from at least three contracts of comparable size. They must also provide proof of insurance naming LSU as an additional insured. Bidders are required to attend a mandatory pre-bid meeting on May 28th at Burden Museum & Gardens.
