Background The Department of Veterans Affairs is issuing this contract for the renovation of the Sterile Processing and Logistics Space at the James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center in Altoona, PA. The goal of this contract is to completely renovate the existing sterile processing service space and associated logistical service space to enhance operational efficiency and safety within the medical facility. Work Details The Contractor shall provide all necessary tools, labor, materials, equipment, permits, licenses, and supervision for the renovation project (Project Number 503-21-105). The work includes: - Completely renovating the existing 3rd floor Sterile Processing Service space and associated 3rd-floor Logistical Service space; - Decontamination and sterilization processing rooms; - Locker rooms; - Closets; - Restrooms; - Office space; - General sterile storage space; - Construction of a temporary logistics space in the existing 1st floor laundry area; - A temporary new structure on the 1st floor connecting to a temporary SPS trailer; - Installation of utilities and required pad for onsite SPS designated trailers that will provide temporary SPS services during renovations. The Contractor is also responsible for securing and maintaining the temporary SPS trailer throughout the project duration. Anticipated trades involved include Laborer, Carpentry, Electrical, Telecommunications, Painting, DDC, HVAC, Mechanical, Fire Suppression, Fire Alarms, Plumbing, Excavating, Masonry, and Abatement.
