Crossover Road Improvements

Background

The contract is issued by Smith Township, located in Washington County, Pennsylvania. The mission of the township is to improve local infrastructure. Work Details

The scope of work under Contract No. 26-01 includes: 1) Placement of Superpave WMA Wearing Course; 2) Placement of 2A modified limestone; 3) Installation of cross drain culverts and riprap; 4) Installation of storm inlets; 5) Implementation of traffic control measures; 6) All necessary appurtenances and restoration associated with the construction. The project involves approximately 1,950 feet in length and a width of 15 feet with a compacted depth of 4 inches for the limestone placement. Additionally, it includes paving at the intersection of Crossover Road, Maple Grove Road, and Station Street with specified depths for both wearing course and binder course.

Period of Performance

The contractor is expected to substantially complete all work within sixty (60) days after the Notice to Proceed is issued by Smith Township or the Engineer.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed at Crossover Road, specifically at the intersection with Maple Grove Road and Station Street in Bulger, Smith Township, PA.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must provide a certified check or bidder's bond from a surety company authorized to do business in Pennsylvania, equating to ten percent (10%) of the total proposal amount as a guarantee. Bidders must also demonstrate qualifications to perform the work by providing evidence such as previous experience and authority to conduct business in Pennsylvania. A listing of all subcontractors proposed for more than 10% of the work must be submitted.
