Trident Refit Facility Bangor (TRFB) performs maintenance, repairs, modernization modifications, and restoration of SSBN 726 Class Submarines. To fulfill mission requirements, organic fabrication of electrical cable assemblies that are exposed to submergence sea pressure is required. To meet submersible cable assembly manufacturing requirements of Reference 2.1, the associated submersible cable connectors that are molded into submersible cable assemblies must be coated with a Non-Conductive Coating (NCC) applied via Plasma Spray (Thermal Spray) to the requirements of Reference 2.2. Current baseline conditions: Thirty-nine National Stock Numbered (NSN) electrical connectors have been received from Navy Supply without the required application of NCC.

Background The Trident Refit Facility Bangor (TRFB) is responsible for the maintenance, repairs, modernization modifications, and restoration of SSBN 726 Class Submarines. The goal of this contract is to fulfill mission requirements by providing organic fabrication of electrical cable assemblies that can withstand submergence sea pressure. Specifically, this involves the application of a Non-Conductive Coating (NCC) via Plasma Spray on submersible cable connectors that are molded into these assemblies. Current baseline conditions indicate that thirty-nine National Stock Numbered (NSN) electrical connectors have been received without the required NCC application. Work Details The contractor will provide thermal spray non-conductive coating (NCC) technical services to submarine submersible electrical connectors in accordance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS). The government will ship the items to the contractor, who will then apply the NCC and return the items back to the government. The contract line-item number (CLIN) consists of: - CLIN 0001: Submersible Connector NCC Thermal Spray - Quantity: 1 - Unit of Measure: Each. The contractor must also submit a Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) as required by CLIN 0001. The contractor is responsible for obtaining any necessary licenses and permits and must comply with applicable laws and regulations.
