Background The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Cooperative Oxford Laboratory (COL) operates the R/V Chesapeake, a 55-foot research vessel. The mission of this contract is to ensure the operational safety and maintenance of the vessel by replacing approximately 20% of its hoses every two years. This proactive approach aims to prevent maintenance or environmental incidents that could affect the vessel's availability for project missions, thereby increasing operational costs for both the vessel and scientific parties involved. Work Details The contractor is required to perform non-personal services for the biennial replacement of hydraulic hoses on the R/V Chesapeake. Specific tasks include: 1. Removal and replacement of approximately 68 hoses identified by orange and red tags as part of the vessel's 20% hose replacement plan. 2. Hoses targeted for replacement include those related to fuel, lubrication, oil distribution, oil drain pan, cooling, raw water, hydraulic systems, drivetrain, and high pressure. 3. Tags from current hoses will be removed and re-attached to replacement hoses with updated dates reflecting the replacement date. If tags are missing or illegible, new tags will be created with corresponding color codes and necessary information. Period of Performance The contract period of performance is from the date of award through September 30, 2027. The actual start date for work will be coordinated with the Technical Point of Contact (TPOC) after award.
