Background The National Park Service (NPS) is issuing this solicitation for the procurement of services to perform annual fire suppression system inspections at Manzanar National Historic Site, located in Inyo County, California. The goal of this contract is to ensure compliance with applicable NFPA codes and maintain the functionality of fire protection systems at the site. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for inspecting and testing various fire protection systems and equipment, including: - five dry sprinkler systems - one fire pump - three hydrants with flow testing - six backflow preventers. Inspections must comply with NFPA standards, and all findings must be documented using NPS asset-specific forms as well as any required NFPA forms. The contractor must provide all necessary manpower, equipment, tools, and supplies to complete the work. Inspections are to be conducted during regular working hours (Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., excluding federal holidays), and the contractor must notify the NPS representative at least 72 hours in advance before performing work in occupied facilities. Period of Performance The period of performance for the base year is from July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027. There are four option years available for renewal under similar terms.
