Background

The Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans is seeking bids for the procurement of an Asphalt Truck as part of its operational needs. The Board's mission includes maintaining and improving the infrastructure for water and sewage services in New Orleans. This contract aims to enhance their capabilities in road maintenance and repair.

Work Details

The contract involves the purchase of one (1) 6-ton hot mix asphalt truck with the following specifications:

Payload Capacity

12,000 lbs. (6-ton) Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA).

Chassis Class

Class 6 diesel-powered with engine options including Detroit Diesel DD5, DD8, or Cummins B6.7 (or equivalent).

Cab Style

Crew Cab configuration.

Dump System

Heavy-duty dumping frame mounted directly to the chassis. Hopper Construction includes triple-wall insulation, air-jacketed heating method, and OSHA-compliant access features. The heating system is diesel-fired with automatic thermostat controls for heat retention. Material discharge features include a hydraulic system with electric-over-hydraulic operation and integrated tools such as a plate compactor and air compressor. Safety features include LED lighting, a rear-view camera system, and a fire extinguisher.

Period of Performance

The initial contract period will begin upon signing by the Board and will last for one year, with immediate shipment requirements following contract execution.

The delivery location for the asphalt truck is specified as the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans at 625 St. Joseph St., New Orleans, Louisiana 70165.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must submit a signed hardcopy bid in a sealed envelope marked with the solicitation number and company details. All bids must comply with specified forms provided in the solicitation documents; submissions on other forms will not be considered. Bidders must also complete all required attachments to avoid being deemed non-responsive.
