Background The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 6, is conducting market research on behalf of the Durham VA Medical Center to identify qualified businesses capable of providing Transitional Housing services. The goal of this contract is to support homeless veterans by providing them with resources necessary for securing permanent housing. Work Details The contractor shall furnish transitional housing for beneficiaries of the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) and the Durham VA Medical Center. Key responsibilities include: 1. Providing Temporary Emergency Residential Shelter that includes beds, restrooms, baths, kitchen facilities, and related furnishings. 2. Implementing adequate security measures such as locks on windows and doors, area fencing, and compliance with VA standards as well as state and local safety and health codes. 3. Preparing a minimum of three balanced meals daily along with daily snacks for each shelter resident. 4. Supplying personal hygiene items, first aid supplies, and locked storage as needed. The contractor must also provide documentation of site control and ensure that subcontracting does not circumvent contract provisions.
