2026-2031 Snow/Slush Removal and Ice Control Services for Newark Campus in Wayne County

Background

The New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) is soliciting bids for Snow and Slush Removal and Ice Control Services for the Newark Campus in Wayne County. OPWDD's mission includes providing care, treatment, rehabilitation, education, training, and support services to individuals with developmental disabilities. This contract aims to ensure safe access to the campus during winter conditions by managing snow and ice effectively.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for the removal of snow and slush accumulations and the application of ice control agents at the Newark Campus. The scope of work includes: - Timely removal of snow and slush from designated areas. - Application of appropriate ice control agents to prevent slipping hazards. - Compliance with all local, state, and federal laws regarding snow removal operations. - Adherence to prevailing wage laws as applicable.

Period of Performance

The contract is anticipated to be a five-year term, starting from October 1, 2026, subject to approval by the Office of the State Comptroller.

Services will be performed at the Newark Campus located at 703 East Maple Avenue, Building 70, Newark, New York 14513.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must have at least two years of relevant experience in snow removal services. They are required to attend a mandatory site visit on May 26, 2026. Bidders must also provide references verifying their experience and submit a Vendor Responsibility Questionnaire if the contract value exceeds $100,000. Additionally, bidders must comply with insurance requirements including workers' compensation and liability coverage.
