Background

The County of Ocean is seeking a contractor to provide servicing for elevators and wheelchair lifts across various county buildings. The purpose of this contract is to ensure the safe and efficient operation of these systems, which are critical for accessibility and transportation within county facilities.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for full maintenance services, including but not limited to: preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, inspections, testing, and modifications as required to keep the elevator systems in first-class operating condition. Specific tasks include: - Monthly preventive maintenance procedures covering all components of the elevators and wheelchair lifts. - Bi-annual cleaning and vacuuming of elevator hoistways and equipment. - Compliance with applicable ASME standards and New Jersey Uniform Construction Code. - Immediate response to service calls with a certified mechanic on-site within specified timeframes. - Provision of genuine OEM replacement parts or equivalent. - Maintenance of a continuous telephone service for 24/7 availability. - Submission of daily service work tickets and monthly reports detailing maintenance history, parts replaced, and inspection results.

Period of Performance

The contract will be performed over a period of five years from the date of award.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed at various locations throughout Ocean County, New Jersey, including but not limited to the Ocean County Library branches, Parks Department facilities, and Buildings & Grounds Department locations.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must have at least five years of experience in elevator repair and maintenance. They must provide evidence of training for mechanics in elevator servicing, including certifications from recognized programs. Bidders should also submit an organizational chart detailing staff qualifications. The contractor must maintain insurance coverage as specified by the County.
