Background

The City of Port Arthur, Texas, is seeking bids for water treatment chemicals to support its Utility Operations Department. The contract aims to ensure the provision of essential chemicals necessary for water purification and treatment processes, adhering to relevant standards and regulations.

Work Details

The contract includes the supply of the following water treatment chemicals: 1. 100% Liquid Chlorine - 325 tons (estimated) in one-ton containers, with shipments made in lots of nine tons. 2. 100% Liquid Chlorine - 36,000 lbs. (estimated) in 150 lb. cylinders, with shipments in 20 cylinder lots. 3. Hydrofluosilicic Acid - 190,000 lbs. (estimated), supplied by tank truck in 4,000 gallon loads. 4. Phosphates - 135,000 lbs (estimated), a 50/50 ortho/polyphosphate blend with specific phosphate content requirements. 5. Sodium Hydroxide - 145 dry tons (estimated), with specific concentration and delivery conditions outlined. 6. Sodium Hydroxide - 72 dry tons (estimated), similar conditions as Item No.5 but with different concentration specifications. 7. Anhydrous Ammonia - 80,000 pounds (estimated), refrigeration grade and free from harmful materials.

Period of Performance

The contract will be for approximately one year, with an option to extend for an additional year if needed.

Place of Performance

Delivery will occur at specified locations within Port Arthur, Texas, including the Water Purification Plant and various Wastewater Treatment Plants.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must provide certifications that their products meet ANSI/NSF/UL Standard 60 and include Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). Additionally, bidders must submit various affidavits and certifications including a Non-Collusion Affidavit and House Bill 89 Verification.
