Background

The City of Raleigh, through its Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Department, is issuing a solicitation for the Greenway Structures Replacement Project. The project aims to enhance pedestrian structures along various greenway locations, ensuring safety and accessibility for the community. The project manager overseeing this initiative is Mark A. Work Details

The project consists of the following major items:

Base Bid

Replace existing timber structures at Bridges #6 and #7 with fiberglass structures.

Alternate 1

Replace existing timber decking at Bridges #102 and #103 with FRP (Fiber Reinforced Polymer).

Alternate 2

Replace the existing timber structure at Bridge #17 with Timber Glu-lams and timber decking.

Alternate 3

Replace the existing timber structure at Bridge #17 with steel framing and FRP decking.

Period of Performance

The contract will be performed from the date of award until completion, with bids due on June 17, 2026.

Place of Performance

The work will be conducted at various locations including Bridges 6 & 7 on Mine Creek Trail, Bridge #17 north of Millbrook Road in Shelley Lake Park, and Bridges 102 & 103 along the east side of Brentwood Park over Marsh Creek in Raleigh, NC.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must provide evidence of a valid North Carolina contractor’s license as required by North Carolina General Statute, Chapter 87. Additionally, bidders are encouraged to include participation from certified Minority and Woman-Owned Business Enterprises (MWBE), aiming to subcontract fifteen percent (15%) of the contract amount to MWBEs on construction projects over $300,000.
