Background

The Chatham County Aging Services Department is seeking proposals for In-Home Aide and Caregiver Respite Services aimed at assisting older adults in maintaining their independence at home. The goal of this contract is to provide essential personal care and home management tasks to individuals who are unable to perform these activities themselves, particularly when no responsible person is available. This service also supports family caregivers by allowing them to take necessary breaks.

Work Details

The Contractor will provide Levels II and III in-home aide services and caregiver respite for approximately 80 older adults and family caregivers in Chatham County for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2024. Services include personal care tasks essential to activities of daily living, light housekeeping, meal preparation, and incidental home management tasks. The Contractor must ensure that aides are non-relatives of clients, at least 18 years old, and demonstrate competence for assigned tasks. Documentation of aide competency testing, supervision during service delivery, in-service training records, and criminal background checks must be maintained and made available to the Aging Services Department. Supervisory visits must occur at specified intervals to ensure quality service delivery.
