Background

Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) is seeking qualified and licensed medium-voltage electrical contractors to perform comprehensive preventive maintenance, inspection, and testing services on medium-voltage electrical infrastructure at the Taylorsville Redwood Campus. The goal of this contract is to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operation of SLCC’s medium-voltage distribution system.

Work Details

The contractor will provide comprehensive preventive maintenance, inspection, and testing services for the following equipment located at the Taylorsville Redwood Campus: - **Heat Plant – Building 001:** 1 Eaton Pad-Mount VFI Vacuum Switch (≤ 35 kV), 3 Eaton 600A Vacuum Switches (SF1, SF2, SF3), 3 Digital Multifunction Meters, 3 GE Multilin SR750 Feeder Management Relays, 1 Pad-Mounted Transformer (≤ 500 kVA). - **Chiller Plant – Building 002A:** 1 G&W VRPVI42-376-12 SF6 Switch (≤ 35 kV), 1 Pad-Mounted Transformer (≥ 500 kVA). - **Technology Building – Building 005:** 1 G&W VRPVI32-376-12-6F SF6 Switch (≤ 35 kV), 1 Pad-Mounted Transformer (1500 kVA). - **Student Center Vaults A-C – Building 006:** Various SF6 switches and dry-type transformers. - **Construction Trades – Building 007:** 1 G&W VRPVI32-376-12-6F SF6 Switch (≤ 35 kV), 1 Pad-Mounted Transformer (2500 kVA). - **Business Building – Building 008:** Various dry-type transformers and switches. - **Library Mechanical Building – Building 009A:** Various transformers and load break switches. - **Lifetime Activity Center – Building 010:** Various vacuum switches and load break switches. - **Science & Industries – Building 011:** Various main load break switches and transformers. - **Academic & Administration – Building 012:** Multiple pad-mounted transformers and an SF6 switch. The contractor must comply with NETA ATS/MTS, NFPA 70E, IEEE standards, and SLCC’s internal safety standards.

Period of Performance

The contractor is expected to complete work within 45 days after the time of award.

Place of Performance

All work will be performed at Salt Lake Community College's Taylorsville Redwood Campus located at 4600 S. Redwood Rd, Taylorsville, Utah.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must have a valid electrical contractor license for medium-voltage work, a minimum of five years of experience in substation maintenance, ability to provide references from similar projects, and familiarity with NETA, NFPA 70E, and IEEE standards. Additional certifications required include Equipotential Grounding Training, Medium Voltage Termination Certifications, NETA testing certification, and INST certified equipment training for medium voltage tools and PPE.
