Construction: Asphalt Rehabilitation at West Valley Elementary

Background

The Granite School District (GSD) is issuing this Invitation for Bids (IFB) to seek bids from licensed General Building Contractors (B100), General Engineering Contractors (E100), or Asphalt Contractors (S260) for the rehabilitation of asphalt surfaces at West Valley Elementary School. The goal of this contract is to furnish all labor, materials, and equipment necessary for the project as outlined in the Project Manual, specifications, and drawings. The anticipated outcome is a single award to the lowest cost responsive and responsible vendor.

Work Details

The work includes: - Milling and regrading of existing asphalt surfaces. - Demolition of concrete curb and gutter. - Removal and replacement of storm drain inlets. - Installation of new asphalt paving. - Installation of concrete flatwork, sidewalks, curbs, and gutters. - Installation of pavement markings and striping. - Restoration of landscaping and irrigation systems damaged during construction.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence upon issuance of a Notice to Proceed and is expected to be completed within a timeframe that aligns with GSD's published completion dates. Specific milestones will be outlined in the project management plan.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed at West Valley Elementary School located at 6049 Brud Drive (3100 South), West Valley City, Utah 84128.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must be licensed as either a General Building Contractor (B100), General Engineering Contractor (E100), or Asphalt Contractor (S260). A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for May 15, 2026, at the Granite School District Offices. Bidders must submit a Bid Bond for amounts $50,000 or greater with their bid proposal. Additionally, they must demonstrate prior project experience by listing at least five comparable projects.
