Renovation, Clyde C. Miller HS Cosmetology & Barber instructional space

Background

The St. Louis Board of Education (d/b/a St. Louis Public Schools) is seeking qualified firms to undertake renovations at Clyde C. Miller High School specifically for the Cosmetology and Barber instructional space. This project aims to provide new and expanded facilities for the Career and Technical Education (CTE) program.

Work Details

The scope of work includes renovations to create dedicated instructional spaces for Cosmetology and Barber programs, which may involve selective structure demolition, installation of new mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems, and finishes appropriate for educational environments. Specific tasks include: - Selective structure demolition as per Division 02. - Concrete work including reinforcing and cast-in-place concrete as per Division 03. - Installation of plastic laminate faced architectural cabinets as per Division 06. - Thermal insulation and joint sealants as per Division 07. - Non-structural metal framing, gypsum board installation, tiling, acoustical tile ceilings, resilient flooring, and painting as per Division 09. - Installation of plumbing fixtures and fire protection systems as per Divisions 21 and 22. - Mechanical HVAC installations as per Division 23. - Electrical work including low-voltage systems as per Division 26.

Period of Performance

The contract is expected to commence upon award with a timeline that will be finalized during negotiations. The anticipated duration for completion should align with school operational schedules.

Place of Performance

Renovations will take place at Clyde C. Miller High School located at 1000 North Grand Blvd, Saint Louis, MO 63106.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must register with Bonfire Interactive Procurement Portal. A Bid Bond or Certified Check equal to five percent (5%) of the Base Bid is required prior to submission. Bidders must comply with prevailing wage laws and submit weekly payroll sheets along with an Affidavit of Compliance upon project completion. Insurance requirements include: - Commercial general liability insurance with limits of $3 million for all claims arising from a single accident. - Workers compensation insurance in accordance with Missouri law. - Automobile liability insurance covering owned, non-owned, and hired vehicles with similar limits as general liability. Bidders are encouraged to include M/WBE participation in their proposals.
