Background

The School District of Springfield R-12, Missouri’s largest school district, is seeking competitive bids for foodservice commodity receiving, storing, and distribution services. The district serves over 24,500 students across various educational facilities and aims to maintain high standards in foodservice operations to support its academic mission.

Work Details

The contract involves the following services: 1) Receiving commodities on a per-case basis; 2) Monthly storage of commodities on a per-case basis; 3) Distribution of products to individual schools on a per-case basis. The contractor must ensure proper hygiene protocols for all personnel and products entering district properties. Additionally, the contractor is required to leave work areas clean and clear of debris daily. The contract may include provisions for emergency situations and requires adherence to safety policies.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence upon award and is subject to renewal in one-year increments for a maximum total of four additional years.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed at the School District of Springfield R-12 facilities located in Springfield, Missouri.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must comply with specific insurance requirements including general liability, automobile liability, workers' compensation, and pollution liability. Bidders must also submit a signed Federal Work Authorization Program Affidavit and a Felony Conviction Notification Form. Compliance with the Buy American provision is mandatory, requiring that over 51% of food products be sourced domestically.
