The Town of Boone is seeking to engage qualified private engineering firms to provide essential engineering services for the New River Hills Sewer Lift Station project. This initiative aims to enhance the town's wastewater management capabilities, aligning with the mission of the North Carolina Division of Water Infrastructure, which is providing grant funding for this project. The total budget allocated for this project is $1,835,000.
The selected private engineering firm (PEF) will be responsible for delivering an engineering report, environmental information document, design services, and construction administration and inspection services specifically for a new sewer lift station. The PEF must ensure compliance with contract requirements and provide skilled engineers and technicians capable of performing various tasks including inspection, materials sampling, materials testing, surveying grade verification, documentation of pay quantities, erosion control and permit compliance, safety compliance, and claims avoidance. Additionally, the firm must administer the construction contract and oversee all work performed under this contract.
The project milestones include: - Engineering Report/Environmental Information Document submission by July 15, 2026; - Engineering Report approval by December 1, 2026; - Bid and Design Package submission by June 1, 2027; - Bid Package approval by October 1, 2027; - Project advertisement and bid receipt by February 2, 2028; - Execution of construction contracts by May 2, 2028.
