The Hawaii District Land Office, part of the Department of Land and Natural Resources, is seeking bids for the removal of a large tree that has fallen from State lands onto private property. This project is located in Kamuela, Hawaii, specifically at TMK: (3) 6-4-002:142 and TMK: (3) 6-4-021:073. The goal is to ensure safety and compliance by removing the fallen tree and any associated debris.
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks: - Cut the fallen tree stump as low to the ground as possible and treat it with herbicide to prevent future growth. - Remove the entire tree fall from both State and Private lands. - Cut and remove any other trees that may have been damaged by the initial tree fall that could pose a risk of falling. - Clear all debris resulting from the initial tree fall. - Ensure no materials from this project are left on either State or Private lands, including cuttings, chips, or mulch; all such items must be removed. - Work must be conducted with consideration for the residential area, avoiding loud equipment before 8 AM and preventing windblown debris from entering private properties. - Access to the project area must be coordinated through DLNR Land Agent Pua Ishibashi.

Contractors must provide certificates of insurance with minimum coverage of $1 million per occurrence/$2 million aggregate for Commercial General Liability and $500,000 per occurrence/$500,000 aggregate for Automobile Insurance. Compliance with Hawaii Compliance Express (HCE) is required for both contractors and subcontractors. If an Arborist is involved as a subcontractor, a copy of Arborist Certification must also be submitted.
