Compost Materials Testing

Background

The City of Columbus is issuing this solicitation to establish an Indefinite Quantity Agreement for Compost Materials Testing Services. The estimated dollar amount for this agreement is $7,000.00, which does not guarantee any minimum purchase amount. The contract will be effective from the date of execution until June 30, 2027. After this date, any unspent funds will be canceled.

Work Details

The testing laboratory must be accredited by the US Composting Council (USCC) Seal of Testing Assurance (STA) Program and must utilize the Test Method for the Examination of Composting and Compost (TMECC) protocols. The services to be provided include: - Monthly testing including packaging and overnight shipping costs from the City of Columbus Compost Facility to the lab. - Sampling supplies such as coolers, ice packs, labels, and sample containers shipped prior to scheduled sampling dates. - Transportation of all samples by the awarded vendor. C10 Package - Ag Components (C10-ASHIP) covering STA requirements including tests for Moisture Solids, Total Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium, Calcium, Magnesium, Organic Matter, Organic Carbon, C:N Ratio, pH, Soluble Salts, Manmade Inerts (foreign materials), Germination Test (Emergence and Vigor), Respiration Test, Particle Size Distribution, Fecal Coliform (Class A).

C10 Package - Env Components (C-10E) includes EPA 503 Heavy Metals testing for As, Cd, Cr, Cu, Hg, Mo, Ni, Pb, Se and Zn.

Period of Performance

The contract will be in effect from the date of execution through June 30, 2027.

Place of Performance

Compost Facility located at 7000 Jackson Pike, Lockbourne, OH 43137.

The testing laboratory must be accredited by the US Composting Council (USCC) Seal of Testing Assurance (STA) Program.
