Background

The Town of Manchester is soliciting bids for Chemicals for Water Treatment as part of its mission to ensure safe and effective water supply management. The goal of this contract is to procure various chemicals necessary for the treatment processes at the Globe Hollow Water Treatment Plant and other facilities, ensuring compliance with applicable standards.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for supplying the following chemicals: 1. Hydrated Lime: Must conform to AWWA B202-13, with a minimum of 68% available calcium oxide. 2. Sodium Hypochlorite: At least 12% available chlorine, delivered in 5-gallon carboys. 3. Polyaluminum Hydroxy Chlorosulfate (PACI): Must meet AWWA B408-93 standards. 4. Liquid Chlorine: Must comply with AWWA B301 standards, supplied in 150 lb cylinders. 5. Fluosilicic Acid: Minimum of 22% by weight, delivered in tank wagon loads. 6. Copper Sulfate: Commercial grade Pentahydrate, packaged in fifty-pound bags. 7. Sodium Fluoride: Dry crystalline material conforming to AWWA B701 standards, delivered in fifty-pound bags. 8. Liquid Zinc Orthophosphate: Must meet ANSI/NSF Standard 60 requirements and be capable of forming a protective film in water systems.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence upon award and will continue for an estimated duration based on the quantities specified. Deliveries will be required as needed throughout the contract period.

Place of Performance

Deliveries will be made to the Globe Hollow Water Treatment Plant located at 125 Spring Street, Manchester, CT 06040, and other specified locations within Manchester.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must provide evidence of compliance with all applicable AWWA and ANSI/NSF standards for each chemical supplied. Additionally, bidders must submit references from at least four utilities in Connecticut that they currently supply similar products to.
