The Tazewell County School Board is seeking qualified contractors to replace the roof of the 'B' wing at the Tazewell County Career and Technical Center. This project aims to ensure the integrity and functionality of the roofing system, which is critical for the safety and operation of the educational facility.

Work Details

The scope of work includes: - Removal of ballast rock from the roof to prepare for a new roofing system. - Removal of existing EPDM membrane, wall flashing, and curb flashing materials. - Replacement of any wet insulation. - Cleaning up and disposing of debris. - Furnishing and installing new wood blocking at the top and interior side of parapet walls. - Furnishing and installing new retrofit roof drains. - Installation of 22,700 square feet of Elevate Rubbergard .060 EPDM rubber roofing material using a ballasted method. The new roof must cover perimeter walls, curbs, and roof penetrations to ensure a watertight system, adhering to manufacturer specifications. - Fabrication and installation of new metal edging using 24-gauge steel in Mansard Brown color. - Re-installation of ballast stone. - Ensuring all roof drains function properly with necessary drain clips, bolts, or hardware for drain integrity. - All preparatory work must be completed as required by the manufacturer, including elevating curbs and adjusting plumbing penetrations to prevent ponding water post-installation.
