Background

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is seeking bids for janitorial services to be performed at the VDOT Interstate Maintenance Trailer located at 10267 Telegraph Road, Ashland, VA 23005. The purpose of this contract is to ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the facility, supporting VDOT's mission to provide a safe and efficient transportation system.

Work Details

The contractor will provide daily janitorial services from Monday through Friday, starting no earlier than 2:30 PM and completing by 5:00 AM the following day. Specific tasks include: - Cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, including floors, commodes, basins, mirrors, and waste receptacles. - Vacuuming carpeted areas and mopping tiled floors in office spaces. - Wiping down surfaces in kitchenette areas and maintaining cleanliness in janitorial closets. - Emptying trash receptacles and disposing of collected trash off-site as VDOT does not have a dumpster on premises. - Reporting any hazardous conditions or items needing repair to the Contract Administrator. - Maintaining security during cleaning operations by locking all windows and doors after completion.

Period of Performance

The contract period will commence on July 1, 2026, or upon award if later, lasting for one year with potential for renewal.

Bidder Requirements

This solicitation is set-aside for DSBSD-certified micro businesses or small businesses. Bidders must complete a Criminal History Records Check for all employees performing work under this contract. Additionally, bidders must maintain appropriate insurance coverage including Workers’ Compensation, Employer’s Liability, Commercial General Liability, and Automobile Liability as specified.
