Background

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is seeking bids from qualified firms to provide short-term, short-notice equipment and vehicle rentals on an as-needed basis statewide. This initiative aims to enhance VDOT's operational capabilities by ensuring the availability of various types of equipment and vehicles to meet project demands efficiently.

Work Details

The contractor will provide a complete range of rental equipment and vehicles, including but not limited to: - Light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks - On-and-off-road vehicles - Earthmoving/construction equipment - Trailers - Lawnmowers - Generators - Pumps - Chain saws The rental period shall not exceed twelve months consecutively. Bidders must submit catalog pricing for all items available for rent within ten business days post-award. The pricing must include daily, weekly, monthly, and seasonal rates. VDOT may require seasonal rentals such as snow and ice control tankers during winter months. The contractor is responsible for providing equipment in operable condition that meets all federal and state safety requirements.

Period of Performance

The contract period is from July 16, 2026, to July 15, 2028, with options to renew for three consecutive two-year periods.

Statewide across Virginia.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must comply with the Virginia Prompt Payment Act and submit bids electronically via eVA. They must also provide a complete list of available rental equipment with pricing in an Excel format within ten days post-award.
