Chemical Pool Supply And Delivery

Background

The City of Charlottesville Parks & Recreation Department is issuing a Request for Quotations (RFQ) for the supply and delivery of chemicals for various aquatic facilities. The purpose of this RFQ is to establish a term contract to provide liquid chemicals and delivery services to support the operation, staffing, and maintenance of city-operated pools.

Work Details

The contractor will provide, deliver, and install aquatic chemicals as specified in the pricing schedule to the following locations: - Smith Aquatic & Fitness Center (1000A Cherry Ave.) with yearly deliveries from January 1 to December 31; - Washington Park Pool (1001 Preston Ave.) with seasonal deliveries from April to September; - Onesty Family Aquatic Center (1001 Preston Ave.) with seasonal deliveries from May to September; - Forest Hills Spray Grounds (1022 Forest Hills Ave.) with seasonal deliveries from May to September; - Tonsler Park Spray Grounds (500 Cherry Ave.) with seasonal deliveries from May to September. Deliveries are scheduled to start on May 20, 2026. The specific chemicals include hypochlorite solution, muriatic acid, calcium chloride flakes, cyanuric acid, sodium thiosulfate, sodium bicarbonate, sodium bisulfate, and various algaecides in specified quantities.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence upon award and is set for one year with an option to renew for up to four additional one-year terms. Deliveries will begin on May 20, 2026.

Place of Performance

The contract will be performed at various locations within Charlottesville, Virginia including: - Smith Aquatic & Fitness Center; - Washington Park Pool; - Onesty Family Aquatic Center; - Forest Hills Spray Grounds; - Tonsler Park Spray Grounds.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must comply with all aspects of the RFQ requirements. The City encourages participation from small businesses and minority-owned businesses. Bidders are required to provide information regarding their business status as SBE, WBE, MBE, ESO or VBE if applicable. Additionally, bidders must ensure they are not debarred from submitting bids and must maintain all necessary licenses and insurance as outlined in the RFQ.
