Background

The City of Bridgeport is seeking bids for Landscape Services - Cutting to maintain the grounds of the Bridgeport Public Schools. The mission of the Bridgeport Public Schools Building Operations and Maintenance Department is to ensure that educational environments are clean, safe, and fully functional for over 20,000 students and staff across more than 38 school buildings. This contract aims to support these objectives through professional landscape maintenance services.

Work Details

The contractor will provide landscape cutting services including: - Mowing lawns every seven days during the cutting season (approximately from the second week of April until the second week of November) while maintaining appropriate mowing height to prevent scalping or burn. - Trimming around sidewalks, curbs, trees, and other structures once a week using suitable equipment. - Collecting and disposing of excessive grass clippings and ensuring adjacent sidewalks and streets are clean. - Removing litter and debris from all areas, including leaves, small branches, rubbish, paper, bottles, cans, rocks, gravel, etc. - Sweeping or blowing hardscape areas free of debris and grass clippings. - The contractor must also provide on-call services as needed.

Period of Performance

The contract will be performed from the second week of April until the second week of November each year for the duration specified in the awarded contract.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed at various locations throughout Bridgeport, Connecticut, specifically at multiple school sites managed by the Bridgeport Public Schools.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must be licensed in Connecticut with all employees properly certified to perform the work. Out-of-state bidders must provide a Certificate of Authority to Do Business in Connecticut within five days of a Notice of Intent to Award. Contractors must have valid SAM, DUNS, CT and Federal Tax ID numbers before commencing work. Bidders must demonstrate at least three years of verifiable commercial landscaping experience with public-sector clients and hold all necessary licenses including a Commercial Pesticide Applicator License if applicable.
