Background

The Department of Land and Natural Resources, Division of State Parks, is seeking to contract for electrical repair work at the Sand Island Recreational Area located in Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii. The goal of this contract is to ensure the proper functioning of electrical systems within various facilities at the recreational area, which are critical for public use and safety.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for furnishing all materials and labor necessary for electrical repairs in the following areas: 1. Comfort stations #4, 5, & 6, including a new electrical transformer at comfort station #6. 2. Sewage transfer pumping system servicing all comfort stations to ensure it operates without issues. 3. State Maintenance Facility and Park Caretaker’s Residence, which requires replacement of a bad transformer and related components. 4. Verification that all electrical systems throughout the Sand Island Recreational Area are functioning correctly post-repair. 5. Disposal of all waste materials such as discarded splices, wires, electrical components, transformers, and concrete boxes. 6. Conduct exploratory work due to the absence of existing electrical plans as the system is over 60 years old.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence upon issuance of a Notice to Award and is expected to be completed within three (3) months.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must possess a current C-13 Electrical Contractor License and a C-63 High Voltage Electrical Contractor License. They must provide proof of these licenses with their bid submission. Bidders should have a permanent office location for business operations and must be accessible via telephone for immediate attention to complaints or requests. Compliance with Hawaii Compliance Express (HCE) is required prior to submitting an offer; non-compliance at the time of award will disqualify the bidder from receiving the contract.
