The City of Bridgeport is seeking bids for landscape spring and fall cleanup services at various schools. The Bridgeport Public Schools Building Operations and Maintenance Department is responsible for the upkeep and safety of over 38 school buildings, ensuring clean and functional educational environments for over 20,000 students and staff. This contract aims to maintain the cleanliness and safety of these facilities through seasonal cleanup services.
The contractor will perform two cleanups each year: one in the fall and one in the spring. The specific tasks include: - Clearing mowing areas of leaves, sticks, twigs, and other debris. - General cleanup of litter (cans, bottles, etc.) before leaf collection. - Leaf collection and disposal from various areas including grass, mulch beds, play areas, fence lines, and perimeters of structures. - Mulch bed weeding/edging and installation of mulch as ordered by the BOE Contract Manager. - Removal of litter and trash from all areas including leaves, small branches, paper, bottles, cans, rocks, gravel, etc. - Hardscape areas (sidewalks) must be swept or blown free of debris. Contractors must be licensed in Connecticut with all employees properly certified for their work. Out-of-state bidders must provide a Certificate of Authority to Do Business in Connecticut within five days of a Notice of Intent to Award. Contractors must have valid SAM, DUNS, CT Tax ID numbers before commencing work. A minimum of three years verifiable commercial landscaping experience is required along with proof of business registration in Connecticut. All contractors must hold necessary licenses including a valid Commercial Pesticide Applicator License if applicable.
