Background

The Department of Health, State Laboratories Division (SLD) is responsible for maintaining health standards in Hawaii. This contract aims to ensure the proper functioning of air handling units (AHUs) at the State Laboratories Facility, which is critical for maintaining laboratory conditions and supporting public health efforts.

Work Details

The contractor will perform repairs on two Air Handling Units (AHUs) located at the State Laboratories Facility. The specific tasks include: 1. For AHU #2: - Remove and dispose of two non-functional variable frequency drives (VFDs). - Purchase, deliver, and install new VFDs (Honeywell NXS0600A1008 or equivalent). - Connect new VFDs to the building Automation System and existing fan motors. - Start up and test newly installed VFDs, making necessary adjustments. 2. For AHU #1A: - Remove and dispose of one failed fan motor. - Deliver and install a new 60 hp fan motor equivalent to the existing motor. - Connect to existing VFD. - Start up, test, and adjust for proper functioning. 3. General requirements include providing shop drawings or manufacturer’s installation information within 4 weeks of award, ensuring all materials are new with a minimum three-month warranty on parts, scheduling work to comply with local laws, and disposing of waste according to regulations.

Period of Performance

The work is expected to be completed following the notice of award, with specific scheduling requirements for shutdowns on weekends (Saturday or Sunday) between 8 am – 5 pm HST.

The work will be performed at the State Laboratories Facility located at 2725 Waimano Home Road, Pearl City, HI 96782.
