Painted Pavement Markings

Background

The Town of Westford, Massachusetts, through its Department of Public Works, is issuing an Invitation for Bids (IFB) #26-13 for the project titled 'Painted Pavement Markings'. The goal of this contract is to install painted pavement markings throughout various locations in Westford, ensuring compliance with relevant state laws and specifications.

Work Details

The work consists of the installation of painted pavement markings, including but not limited to: 400,000 linear feet of 4-inch reflectorized white line and 525,000 linear feet of 4-inch reflectorized yellow line. The contractor is responsible for providing all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary to complete the work as specified in the contract documents. All work must conform to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) specifications for highways and bridges and the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). The quantities provided are estimates based on available budget and may be adjusted based on unit bid prices.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence upon execution and must be completed by August 28, 2026. The initial term is one year with options for two additional one-year renewals.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed at various locations throughout the Town of Westford, Massachusetts.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must be pre-qualified and listed as approved contractors by MassDOT. Each bid must include a bid security amounting to 5% of the total bid price in the form of a certified check or bid bond. A payment bond equal to 50% of the total contract price is also required. Bidders must comply with prevailing wage laws as determined by the Massachusetts Department of Labor and Workforce Development. Additionally, bidders must certify compliance with tax laws and provide evidence of OSHA training for all employees.
