Background The Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically the Cincinnati VA Medical Center, is issuing this contract to enhance and update the physical and personnel security of the site. The goal is to improve site security through renovations at various locations including the main hospital, Community Living Center (CLC), utility plant, Admin building 3, and parking garage. This project aims to ensure the safety and security of personnel and infrastructure. Work Details The contractor is required to provide all tools, equipment, materials, permits, labor, and supervision necessary for the complete performance of construction work as per project drawings and specifications. The scope includes: renovation for site security; general construction; alterations; electrical work; telecommunications; site work; demolition and removal of existing security gates, card readers, fencing, walls, ceilings, piping; installation of new security features including sixteen electronic card readers at six locations. The card readers must be compatible with existing systems and include features such as RFID technology for contactless entry, tamper resistance, short proximity range sensors, encryption for secure communications, and durability against environmental conditions. Period of Performance The contractor must begin performance within 30 calendar days after receiving the award and complete it within 270 calendar days.
