Background Alamance Burlington Schools is seeking vendors to supply fresh milk products for its School Nutrition Program. The goal of this contract is to ensure the provision of high-quality fresh milk to support the nutritional needs of students across the district. This initiative aligns with the USDA's regulations and aims to comply with the Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for furnishing and delivering fresh milk daily to 33 schools in Alamance County. Deliveries will commence on August 15, 2026, and continue through August 14, 2027. During the summer months (June, July, and August), deliveries will still be required for schools participating in the Summer Feeding Program. All products must meet the Nutritional Standards for Foods Sold in Schools as mandated by federal regulations. The vendor must provide documentation of brand labels, product specifications, and nutrition information with their proposal. Pricing must include all delivery costs and taxes, except North Carolina Sales Tax on taxable items. The vendor is also required to submit a Proposal Price Sheet detailing item specifications and pricing. Period of Performance The contract period is from August 15, 2026, to August 14, 2027, with an option to extend for up to four additional one-year terms based on mutual agreement. Place of Performance Deliveries will take place at various school locations within Alamance County, North Carolina. Bidder Requirements Vendors must provide proof of insurance coverage for product liability and personal or property damage caused by their employees. Subcontracting is not permitted under this contract. Vendors must conduct criminal background checks on employees who will engage in services on school property and provide documentation that such checks were performed prior to hiring.
