Summary (Newest Update)

Background The Mobility Prototyping MAC Solicitation is issued by the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane, specifically the Mobility Systems Engineering Branch (MXPQ). The contract aims to support the Department of War (DoW) in enhancing mobility platforms through the design, development, engineering, fabrication, and testing of prototype components and systems. This initiative is critical for adapting to evolving warfare landscapes and ensuring operational safety, lethality, maintainability, reliability, and overall effectiveness of ground mobility vehicles. The contract will facilitate collaboration with industry leaders to advance mobility technology and improve vehicle performance. Work Details The Statement of Work (SOW) outlines several key tasks and services to be completed under this contract: 1. Design, development, engineering, fabrication, and testing of prototype components for various DoW vehicles including Ground Mobility Vehicles and Joint Light Tactical Vehicles. 2. Conducting concept reviews and detailed design prototyping for verification of requirements defined in individual Delivery Orders (DOs). 3. Each DO will require delivery of a final prototype or test report that meets specific Statement of Objectives (SOO) requirements. 4. The work will be divided into four Technology Areas: a) Powertrain Performance Prototyping; b) Advanced Chassis, Body, and Mobility Handling Prototyping; c) Mobility Testing Services; d) General Prototype Fabrication and Integration. Each area focuses on specific improvements such as powertrain performance enhancements, chassis modifications for better handling, comprehensive mobility testing services for prototypes, and integration of fabricated components into deliverable prototypes. Place of Performance The work will primarily be performed at NSWC Crane facilities in Indiana.
