Background The Judiciary of the State of Hawaii is issuing this solicitation for the installation of ADA-compliant automatic door systems at the Hilo Courthouse for the Third Circuit Court. The goal is to enhance accessibility in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and improve public access to courthouse facilities. Work Details The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and incidentals necessary for a complete installation, including: 1. Furnish and install stand-alone low-energy ADA automatic door operators/closers on existing double doors. 2. Utilize existing electrical power for system operation. 3. Provide activation devices (push plates and/or sensors). 4. Install all required hardware for a complete and operable system. 5. Perform testing, adjustment, and commissioning. 6. Work to be performed during regular business hours from 7:45 am to 4:30 pm Monday-Friday. Installed systems shall comply with all applicable ADA requirements, ANSI/BHMA A156.19 standards, and meet all federal, state, and county codes suitable for high-traffic public facilities. Period of Performance The contract will be performed through May 31, 2026. Place of Performance Hilo Courthouse, 777 Kilauea Avenue, Hilo, HI 96720. Bidder Requirements Contractors must provide proof of compliance with HRS § 103D-310(c) to receive a contract for $25,000 or more. Bidders must attend a mandatory pre-offer meeting and site visit scheduled on May 8, 2026. All employees working under this contract must pass a criminal history background check by the Judiciary.
