Background The State of Minnesota, through its Department of Natural Resources (DNR), is seeking to establish a contract for the provision of one modular, relocatable, temporary vehicle bridge. This bridge system is intended for use in timber harvesting operations and emergency vehicle access, and will be redeployed at multiple forest stream crossings across the state. The goal of this solicitation is to ensure that the bridge meets specific operational and safety standards as outlined in the attached specifications. Work Details The contractor will provide a modular, relocatable temporary vehicle bridge system that meets the following specifications: 1. The bridge must have a minimum clear span of 34 feet and a clear roadway width of 14 feet without any intermediate supports or in-stream piers. 2. The design must comply with the current AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications using HL-93 load rating standards. 3. The bridge components must be transportable on legal highway trailers and assembled using conventional logging or construction equipment. 4. All materials used must include structural steel or pressure-treated timber, with specific requirements for fabrication and installation detailed in the solicitation documents. 5. The contractor must provide sealed calculations, drawings, and an operations & maintenance manual to support the design and functionality of the bridge system. Period of Performance The anticipated contract term is from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, with an option to extend for up to an additional 48 months.
