Background The State of Hawaii, Department of Transportation, Highways Division is issuing a contract for the furnishing of tire services for state highway vehicles and equipment on the Island of Oahu. The goal of this contract is to ensure timely and efficient tire maintenance and repair services to support the operational readiness of state vehicles. Work Details The contractor will provide all labor, materials, tools, and necessary equipment to service tires for various State highway vehicles and equipment, including tractors and loaders. Services will be provided on an indefinite quantity/as-needed basis at various locations across Oahu. Key responsibilities include: - Responding to tire repair requests within specified timeframes (90 minutes during regular hours and 120 minutes during off-hours). - Repairing or replacing damaged tires using approved methods (no foam fill/sealant). - Returning damaged tires to the District Office by the next business day if not repairable. - Remounting repaired tires with proper torque and sequence as per manufacturer recommendations. - Ensuring that service vehicles are compliant with all safety regulations. Period of Performance The contract will commence upon award and is expected to continue until all required services have been completed or until terminated by either party in accordance with contract terms. Place of Performance Services will be performed throughout the Island of Oahu, including remote sites as well as at the contractor’s yard. Bidder Requirements Bidders must demonstrate availability of necessary equipment, facilities, and personnel before award. All unit prices must be completed in bids; failure may result in rejection. The contractor must comply with insurance requirements as outlined in Section 7.9, including workers' compensation and liability insurance.
