Request for Proposals (RFP): South Salt Lake Brand Strategy Development & Execution The City of South Salt Lake is requesting proposals for the project titled: South Salt Lake Brand Strategy Development and Execution. Services will include downtown research and discovery, brand development, brand strategy, presentation and adoption. An optional Pre-Proposal Meeting will be held virtually at 11:00 am MST on Thursday, May 14, 2026. RSVPs are required by no later than 24 hours in advance to receive the meeting link. Inquiries and responses to this meeting should be directed to jdiersen@sslc.gov. All answers and addenda will only be posted on Utah Public Procurement Portal (UP3). Proposals must be submitted to the City of South Salt Lake by Friday, May 29, 2026, no later than 5:00 pm MST ( Submission Deadline ). City is not responsible for proposals delivered incorrectly or for failure to receive. Submissions shall submitted through UP3 or can be sent as a single PDF to aandrus@sslc.gov. Separate attachments will not be accepted. Proposers wishing to verify receipt of the proposal may contact Ariel Andrus at aandrus@sslc.gov. Submissions that are late, incomplete, or do not meet submission format and contents as described in this RFP will not be accepted. The City reserves the right to reject all submissions or to waive any informality in any submissions if deemed in the best interest of the City. The City does not guarantee that a contract will be awarded following the submission deadline.

Background The City of South Salt Lake (SSL) is seeking to develop a comprehensive brand strategy for its emerging Downtown District. The goal is to establish an authentic and unified brand identity that positions the South Salt Lake Downtown District as a creative urban hub, bridging its industrial heritage with a vibrant future as a destination for business, arts, and community life. The total project maximum funds anticipated are $75,000. Work Details The selected Service Provider will conduct downtown research and discovery, develop a visual identity toolkit, create a cohesive brand strategy, and present the final brand strategy to the Mayor and City Council. Specific tasks include: 1) Research and Discovery: Review previous planning materials, conduct stakeholder interviews, analyze peer branding efforts, and identify core themes unique to Downtown SSL. Deliverables include a discovery summary report and SWOT analysis. 2) Brand Development: Create a visual identity system including logo suite, color palette, typography, and graphic elements; provide brand guidelines for print and digital applications. Deliverables include three brand concepts and a final brand toolkit. 3) Brand Strategy: Present recommended strategies to key partners; outline implementation roadmap with budgets and metrics. Deliverables include campaign concepts and an implementation plan. 4) Presentation and Adoption: Provide editable templates for rollout and deliver final files for ongoing use.
