Background The City of West Jordan is seeking proposals from qualified S330 licensed contractors to enhance the 7000 South Entrance corridor, a primary gateway into the city. This project aims to improve the visual character, functionality, and long-term maintainability of this key entry point, reflecting the community's identity amidst ongoing residential and commercial development. The City has engaged Consor Engineers for design concepts and construction documents, which are attached as exhibits to the RFP. Work Details The project includes: 1. **Site Preparation**: Mobilization and demobilization, clearing, grubbing, grading, and protection of existing utilities. 2. **Retaining Wall Construction**: Building retaining walls as per project plans to ensure long-term maintenance access. 3. **Landscaping Improvements**: Installation of drought-tolerant landscaping along roadway slopes and within the center median, including soil preparation and irrigation system modifications using approved parts. 4. **Electrical Work**: Coordination with city and utility providers for electrical installations. 5. **City Entrance Sign**: Site preparation for the entrance sign area in coordination with YESCO for sign placement and lighting integration. 6. **Traffic Control and Public Coordination**: Implementation of a traffic control plan to maintain safe traffic flow during construction. 7. **Project Management**: Regular meetings with City staff, maintaining a project schedule, and coordinating with stakeholders. Period of Performance Contract execution is anticipated within approximately 30 days following the proposal due date; construction will commence upon contract execution with substantial completion required by November 30, 2026, and final completion no later than 120 days after substantial completion. Place of Performance The work will be performed along the 7000 South Entrance corridor in West Jordan, Utah. Bidder Requirements Bidders must be qualified S330 licensed contractors. They are required to provide proof of insurance covering general liability ($2 million per occurrence), automobile liability ($3 million per accident), workers' compensation (statutory limits), and excess liability insurance as specified in the RFP.
