The Salt Lake City Department of Airports ( SLCDA or CITY ) is initiating a complete software upgrade of its Electronic Video Information Display System ( EVIDS ) and is requesting proposals from qualified vendors ( Respondents and Vendors ) to support this initiative. The selected Vendor shall provide a high-availability, fully redundant software suite that manages the ingestion, processing, and visual rendering of flight arrival and departure, baggage, ramp, and gate assignment information across more than 700 terminal, airside, and other facilities endpoints. Other facilities include the park and wait lot, cargo facility, Airport Operations Center ( AOC ) and Airport Control Center ( ACC ).
Background The Salt Lake City Department of Airports (SLCDA) is initiating a complete software upgrade of its Electronic Video Information Display System (EVIDS) to enhance the management of flight information across various airport facilities. The goal is to implement a high-availability, fully redundant software suite that will manage the ingestion, processing, and visual rendering of critical flight data across more than 700 endpoints, including terminals and operational centers. Work Details The selected vendor will be responsible for providing a comprehensive software solution that includes: - High-availability and fully redundant software suite for EVIDS. - Management of flight arrival and departure information, baggage handling, ramp, and gate assignments. - Integration with existing systems such as Airport Operational Database (AODB) and airline host systems. - Use of Samsung’s Tizen processors for display management. - Implementation of a Maintenance Plan that includes 24/7 technical support and quarterly software health checks. - Testing phases including component testing, integration testing, functionality testing, and endurance testing to ensure compliance with specifications. Period of Performance The contract is anticipated to commence on June 15, 2026, with implementation and testing scheduled from June 15 to September 30, 2026. The system is expected to be fully operational by October 1, 2026, with final acceptance by October 15, 2026. Place of Performance The services will be performed at the Salt Lake City International Airport and associated facilities. Bidder Requirements Respondents must have at least five years of experience in designing and implementing EVIDS services. They must demonstrate experience with AODB integration and using Samsung's Tizen processors. Additionally, they must comply with the City’s procurement rules and ethical standards. The selected vendor must also provide various insurance coverages including commercial general liability insurance of at least $5 million per occurrence.
